The Congress has raised concerns about the sudden announcement of the plan, questioning if it is meant to benefit certain business interests. The original development plan was approved in 1999 and is now being revised after 20 years. The city currently has limited open space, with various parks, playgrounds, sports complexes, and recreation grounds reserved in the new plan. The detailed plans and maps are available on the TMC website and at the municipal headquarters for a small fee.
