Telangana’s Poor Food Safety Ranking: 23rd in National Index Raises Concerns |



The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) report has revealed that the food safety standards in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are poor, with Telangana ranking 23rd and Andhra Pradesh ranking 28th out of 36 states and Union Territories. Telangana scored low in various criteria such as food testing, infrastructure, surveillance, and human resources. However, state officials are confident that there will be significant improvement in the next ranking as they have started initiatives to ensure eateries maintain standards in serving food. Over 1,000 inspections have been carried out this year so far to monitor food quality in various establishments.
