A teenage girl in Ahmedabad left home because she was afraid of being scolded by her parents for using a mobile phone. She sought help from the Abhayam 181 Women Helpline after calling from a passer-by’s phone at Ujala Circle. The girl was afraid to go back home after her brother snatched the phone and told her parents she was talking to a boy. The girl had no specific destination in mind and called for help out of fear. The parents were contacted and both the parents and the girl received counselling to address the situation.
