Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi expressed his disapproval of the state government hosting events at a city museum to honor Mahatma Gandhi, instead of at the Gandhi Mandapam. He criticized Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for refusing to hold such events in a more appropriate manner. The Governor highlighted the importance of giving due respect to Gandhi, especially considering the historical opposition he faced from followers of Dravidian ideology. Despite this, Governor Ravi paid floral tributes to Gandhi at the Gandhi Mandapam on his death anniversary. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Stalin and other ministers paid tributes to Gandhi at a statue on the government museum campus in Egmore.
