Students unions intensify protests demanding SVU VC’s resignation in Tirupati | Hyderabad News

The TDP-led NDA alliance won the 2024 elections in Andhra Pradesh, leading to protests by student unions demanding the resignation of Sri Venkateswara University Vice Chancellor Prof V Srikanth Reddy. The VC has been accused of supporting the YSRCP party and pressuring university staff to do the same before the elections. The protests have intensified, and the VC has stayed confined to his bungalow. Police have been deployed at the university campus to prevent any incidents. Former VC Prof. Rajendra Prasad was forced to resign in a similar situation in 2019. The current VC is facing pressure to step down as well.
