Strict Enforcement of Firecracker Regulations in Bengaluru for Deepavali |

A surveillance committee has been established in Bengaluru Urban district to ensure compliance with firecracker regulations ahead of Deepavali. The committee, consisting of officials from various departments, will monitor all five taluks in the district. Sub-divisional officers and tahsildars will oversee the committee’s operations. The deputy commissioner emphasized strict action against vendors breaking regulations, with only green crackers allowed for sale. A check-post has been set up at the interstate border to prevent illegal transportation of firecrackers. Authorities must conduct site inspections and document the process before issuing licences to vendors. Firecracker warehouses will undergo joint inspections by police and fire services officials within a three-day window.
