Stay Updated: Tamil Nadu Launches TN-Alert for Monsoon Preparedness | Chennai News



The state of Tamil Nadu is gearing up for the northeast monsoon, with Chief Minister M K Stalin announcing the development of a bilingual mobile app called TN-Alert to keep the public informed about weather forecasts, rainfall data, alerts, and reservoir levels. A real-time flood forecasting system has also been put in place for specific warnings in Chennai. The government is installing automatic rain gauges and weather stations to gather real-time data. The chief minister stressed the importance of accurate rainfall data for effective water management and flood alerts. District administrations are urged to plan ahead to support vulnerable populations during emergencies. The government is also focusing on quick response and flood mitigation measures to prevent casualties. Monitoring officers are tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of essential services and coordinating with volunteers.
