States, UTs must report on security measures for doctors before Sept 10: Centre



The Union health ministry is urging states and Union Territories to submit reports on security measures in medical institutions for healthcare workers by September 10. Measures discussed include identifying high-risk hospitals, conducting security audits, installing CCTV cameras, training security personnel, and establishing protocols for incident response. States are asked to take immediate action to ensure the safety of healthcare workers. The Supreme Court has directed the health ministry to engage with state governments to address safety concerns of doctors. States must take appropriate action within two weeks to address the issue of violence in medical institutions.
