The Department of Health and Family Welfare in Bengaluru has decided to put on hold the notification that required MBBS graduates from April 2024 to serve in rural health facilities for a year. This decision came after receiving feedback from candidates expressing concerns about NEET-PG counselling and vacancy positions. The previous notification had listed 377 posts for 756 students based on their academic performance. Some graduates felt the selection process was discriminatory and unfair, as it only included a fraction of the total graduates. The department quickly reversed its decision after receiving the representations.
