SpiceJet airlines has announced plans to launch seaplane operations in 2025, connecting remote and picturesque locations in India. The airline will operate daily seaplane services between Vijayawada and Hyderabad by March 2025. SpiceJet has partnered in seaplane trials and has rights to operate on 20 routes including Lakshadweep, Hyderabad, Guwahati, and Shillong. The chairman and managing director of SpiceJet, Ajay Singh, expressed excitement about the potential of seaplanes to transform regional connectivity in India with the support of leaders like Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and union minister K. Rammohan Naidu.
