A family from Narsapur in Medak donated their brother’s skin, kidneys, and liver after he was declared brain dead. This is only the third skin donation reported in Telangana since 2023. Telangana has a high organ donation rate compared to the national average. However, families are often hesitant to donate skin due to concerns about disfigurement. The recent donation was made to the Osmania General Hospital skin bank. The family made the decision to donate after understanding the importance of organ donation. Jeevandan officials emphasize that skin donation is rare despite its impact on saving lives.
