CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury is currently in critical condition due to an acute respiratory tract infection. He is receiving treatment at AIIMS and is on respiratory support in the ICU. A team of doctors is closely monitoring his condition. Party leader MV Govindan will be visiting Yechury in Delhi. Yechury was admitted to AIIMS on August 19 for pneumonia-like symptoms.
