The Supreme Court has put a hold on the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights’ directives to transfer students from unrecognised madrassas to government schools. This decision came after arguments made by a senior advocate representing the Muslim organisation Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind. The court also stopped the actions taken by Uttar Pradesh and Tripura governments regarding this issue. Additionally, it allowed the Muslim body to involve other states in its petition. This decision aims to address the concerns raised by the Muslim community about the NCPCR’s communications and state orders.
