Severe cyclone Dana begins landfall on Odisha coast, expected to continue till…



A severe cyclonic storm named Dana made landfall on the Odisha coast between Bhitarkanika and Dhamra with wind speeds of around 110 kmph. The storm moved north-northwest at 15 kmph over the past six hours. The landfall process was expected to continue until Friday morning, with wind speeds reaching 120 kmph when the system’s center reaches land. The process was monitored by the Doppler weather radar at Paradip. The Odisha government’s preparedness to handle the cyclone was also discussed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
