Separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani to Be Remembered in J-K Assembly

Former separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani, along with other former legislators and parliamentarians, will be remembered in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Tuesday. The speaker will make obituary references for those who have passed away since the last session in February 2018. Geelani, who was a three-time member of the legislative assembly, joined the separatist movement in 1989 and boycotted elections until his death in 2021. Other notable figures to be remembered include former president Pranab Mukherjee and former Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee.
