RTE admissions: TN private schools seek reimbursement of fees



The Federation of Private Schools Associations in Chennai is urging the state project directorate of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan to release tuition fee reimbursements for students enrolled under the RTE Act for the 2023-24 academic year. Despite the state government allocating Rs 427 crore for this purpose over two months ago, private schools have yet to receive the funds. This delay is causing financial strain for schools, impacting teacher salaries and infrastructure development. The Union education ministry has also withheld funds for Tamil Nadu due to disagreements over educational policies, further complicating the situation.
