Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is actively campaigning for BJP candidate Diganta Ghatowar in the upcoming by-polls in Behali. He has announced various development plans, including Rs. 100 crore for road infrastructure, a new hospital, solar-fencing systems for man-animal conflict, and welfare measures for farmers. He also promised land patents for forest area residents, bridges over rivers, hostels for tea tribes, and provisions for intercity trains. Additionally, 1,500 unemployed youth will be included in a state scheme. The by-poll will see a three-way contest between BJP, Congress, and CPI(M-L) candidates.
