Rishabh Pant released by DC, Klaasen pips Kohli in retention price

Rishabh Pant has been released by the Delhi Capitals, making him a hot commodity in the IPL auction pool. Heinrich Klaasen was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping 23 crore, surpassing Virat Kohli’s retention price of 21 crore by RCB. Kolkata Knight Riders have released skipper Shreyas Iyer. Franchises had a combined purse of Rs 120 crore for retention and the mega auction, with the option to retain up to six players or use RTM cards at the auction. Teams also have the option to release all players and enter the auction with six RTM cards. Speculations on player retentions have ended with the submission of retention lists.
