Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy DK Shivakumar led a “Gandhi Walk” through the city, followed by a “Cleanliness Pledge” with over 800 students present. Activist Bezwada Wilson spoke about the ongoing challenges faced by scavenging communities, emphasizing the need to eliminate untouchability and differential treatment. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi conducted a cleanliness drive, while the Karnataka State Bioenergy Development Board highlighted bioenergy’s role in rural development and employment generation.
