A valuable painting by renowned Indian artist S H Raza has been reported stolen from an auction house’s warehouse in Mumbai. The painting, worth Rs 2.5 crore, was entrusted to the auction house by its owner in 2020 but was found missing when they tried to put it up for auction again in 2024. The police have registered a case of theft and are investigating the matter. Raza, known for his unique style and use of the ‘bindu’, was inspired by the natural beauty of his surroundings in Madhya Pradesh. His artworks are highly coveted by collectors.
