Ragpicker Lynched in Ahmedabad Over False Gas Cylinder Theft Accusation | Ahmedabad News



A 45-year-old ragpicker, Maraj Marwadi, was killed by four men and a woman in Ahmedabad on suspicion of stealing a gas cylinder. The accused tied him up, beat him to death, and dumped his body in Pirana. The police found Marwadi’s body near Pirana and identified the suspects. The couple, Jigi Kumarkhania and Mahendra Kumarkhania, along with their aides, were charged with murder, kidnapping, and other offenses. Marwadi had approached the couple for a place to sleep, and when a gas cylinder went missing from their house, they suspected him of theft. The postmortem report revealed that Marwadi died from injuries caused by a hard and blunt object.
