The meeting between BJP state president BY Vijayendra and public works minister Satish Jarkiholi in Bengaluru has raised eyebrows in political circles. Speculation about Jarkiholi’s role in state politics has intensified following his discussions with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and meeting with home minister G Parameshwara. However, both parties clarified that the meeting was focused on addressing issues related to new toll gates on State Highway 57 in Shikaripura taluk. Vijayendra expressed concerns about the tolls causing inconvenience to farmers and schoolchildren, leading to a positive response from Jarkiholi to consider relocating the toll gates. The highway, constructed eight years ago, has become a point of contention due to the toll gates affecting daily activities of locals.
