Petlaburz Residents Seek High Court Protection Against Demolition Threats |

Residents of Petlaburz in Hyderabad are concerned about the authorities marking their houses with letters ‘RB-X’ and fear that their homes might be demolished by HYDRAA, municipal and revenue authorities. S Mahender Singh Das and 14 others have filed a petition in the high court seeking protection from any hasty demolitions. However, the court is closed for Dasara vacation and the matter will be taken up after it reopens on Oct 14. The residents claim that their properties are not within the full tank level or buffer zone of the Musi river and have been living there for 80 years with proper documentation of their land and facilities.
