Ronak Rathi, a 22-year-old from Palanpur in north Gujarat, has secured admission to IIM Ranchi despite coming from a humble background. His parents run a tea stall and stitch clothes to make ends meet. Ronak’s goal is to excel in the MBA course and secure a good placement to improve his family’s living conditions. He studied in Gujarati medium till Class 12 and pursued BTech in electrical engineering before deciding to prepare for the CAT exam. His father, who has not studied much, is proud of Ronak’s academic achievements. Ronak’s two visually impaired sisters are also working towards their goals. Ronak credits his success to the guidance of an IIM Calcutta alumnus and CAT mentor. His story is an inspiration for many from small towns to dream big and work hard to support their families.
