Olectra Greentech, a part of the Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd group, has been chosen as the lowest bidder to supply 327 electric buses to the Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation. The company is expecting the order to be finalized soon. Olectra, along with Switch Mobility, qualified after the tendering process and technical evaluation by HRTC. The buses will include 297 9-metre buses and 30 12-metre e-buses. HRTC had previously deployed e-buses between Kullu Manali and Rohtang Pass in 2017, with 25 buses supplied by Olectra. The e-buses come with features like advanced driver assistance systems, air suspension, and disc brakes with electronic stability control. The 9m buses can travel up to 180 km on a single charge at 80% state of charge.
