Officials Rescue Children from Begging Parents in Hyderabad |

In Bhadradri Kothagudem district, a community is fighting to continue their tradition of begging as their profession, despite officials’ attempts to intervene. The authorities recently took action to stop begging among women, children, and youth, leading to protests from the men in the community. Some children were returned to their mothers with the condition that they would not be made to beg, while others were kept by the authorities to be enrolled in school. The district child protection officer plans to take further measures to prevent children from being exploited for begging.
