No ganja, no chocolate, they are ‘bhang golis’ in Telangana paan shops | Hyderabad News



Peddlers and smugglers are taking advantage of a loophole in the law to bring ‘bhang golis’, or cannabis leaf paste balls, from northern states to Hyderabad. These products are being sold in ‘paan’ shops, disguised as harmless snacks. The excise department is cracking down on the sale and consumption of these items, which are banned in Telangana. Despite being called ‘ganja chocolates’, these ‘golis’ do not actually contain marijuana or chocolate. The confusion surrounding the legal status of cannabis has allowed suppliers to continue selling the contraband in the state. Authorities are working to eliminate the presence of ganja in Telangana, following clear instructions from the Chief Minister.
