Nipah case in Kerala: People in Tamil Nadu asked not to ignore these symptoms | Chennai News



Tamil Nadu’s director of public health and preventive medicine, T S Selvavinayagam, recently inspected Nipah precautionary measures in Kanyakumari district. He urged the public to seek medical help at primary health care centers and government hospitals if they experience symptoms like fever and cold. Selvavinayagam also advised those returning from foreign countries with these symptoms to isolate themselves for 21 days. In light of Nipah and monkeypox cases in Kerala, the health department in Tamil Nadu has been monitoring bordering districts. Medical screening camps have been set up, and all government hospitals are prepared with quarantine wards. Selvavinayagam stressed the importance of reporting symptoms promptly and reassured that all precautionary measures are being taken to prevent the spread of these viruses.
