The BJP spokesperson Rachna Reddy criticized the Congress-led Telangana government for focusing on the personal lives of celebrities instead of public affairs. She labeled the state government as an “utter disaster” following remarks made by minister Konda Surekha regarding the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Surekha had accused former Minister KT Rama Rao of being involved in the divorce and making actresses drug addicts. Reddy accused the government of neglecting policies and social welfare. Naga Chaitanya’s father filed a defamation case against Surekha, and actors Mahesh Babu and Vijay Deverakonda condemned her comments. Surekha later clarified that her remarks were aimed at criticizing KT Rama Rao and not Samantha Prabhu.
