Officials have announced that 12 out of 20 river bridges along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Corridor in Gujarat have been completed. One of the recent completions is a 120-metre-long bridge on the Kharera river in Navsari district. The project also includes 12 stations in Gujarat and Maharashtra, aiming to reduce travel time between Ahmedabad and Mumbai to around three hours. Construction work is progressing on all 12 stations, and a 21-km tunnel, including a 7 km undersea tunnel, has begun. This undersea tunnel, with a diameter of 12.1 meters, is a first in India. The project is on track with land acquisition completed and tenders awarded for civil and depot work.
