Most Polluted Rivers In Gujarat Drop From 20 To 13, Says Govt | Ahmedabad News



In 2018, 20 rivers in Gujarat were classified as the most polluted in the country, but that number has dropped to 13 by 2022. The state government’s presentation highlighted improvements in reducing pollution levels, with measures like increasing sewage treatment plant capacities and conducting drone surveys to identify illegal discharges. Despite these efforts, concerns remain about environmental violations, particularly in the Sabarmati River. The National Green Tribunal has formed a joint committee to address the issue, involving various authorities like the Gujarat Pollution Control Board and the Ministry of Environment.
