Forest, Environment, and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha of the Congress government in Telangana emphasized the importance of ensuring justice for the backward and weaker sections of society, who make up a significant portion of the state’s population. She criticized the previous government for neglecting the welfare of the backward classes and highlighted the current government’s efforts, under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, to address this issue through a caste census. Surekha urged BCs to reject conspiracies against the caste census and emphasized the significance of this historic step in achieving social justice for BC communities. She condemned opposition legislators for walking out of discussions on the caste census and warned that opposing it would ultimately harm BC communities.
