Environmentalists in Karnataka are organizing a 10-day march to raise awareness about the importance of keeping the Tungabhadra river clean. Around 60 people, including students, farmers, and seers, will be participating in the event called Nirmala Tungabhadra Abhiyana. The march will start in Sringeri and end in Harihar, with a second phase planned for Kishkinda. The main objective is to advocate for sewage treatment plants in urban areas and gram panchayats to maintain the river’s cleanliness. Various groups, including the Paryavaran Trust and the Indian Medical Association, are showing their support for the cause.
