Malayali couple among three arrested in K’tka businessman Mumtaz Ali’s death | Onmanorama News

Three individuals, including a Malayali couple, were arrested by Mangaluru Police in connection with the death of businessman B M Mumtaz Ali. The couple, involved in a blackmailing racket, were charged with abetment to suicide. Ali’s body was recovered from the Phalguni river mouth, and three other partners in the racket are currently absconding. Ali, a well-known businessman, was reportedly blackmailed for over Rs 50 lakh and pressured to pay Rs 2 crore. The couple took advantage of Ali’s generosity and developed a relationship with him to extort money.
