A group of Indian youth, including Mohammad Sufiyan from Telangana and three others from Karnataka, were deceived by a fraudulent agent and forced into a private Russian army to fight in Ukraine. They were treated harshly, working long hours with no rest, meager ration, and constant fear of violence. They were not allowed to communicate with their families back in India, adding to their psychological toll. The men coped by praying and dreaming of returning home. The death of a friend in a drone attack prompted them to seek help, leading to their rescue and return to India after months of hardship.
