LAC Patrolling Agreement With China Doesn’t Mean Everything Is Resolved, says Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasized that the recent agreement with China on patrolling along the LAC is a positive step, but it doesn’t mean that all issues between the two countries have been resolved. He credited the military and diplomacy for this breakthrough, highlighting the challenging conditions under which they worked. Jaishankar mentioned that normalizing relations will take time and rebuilding trust is essential. He also discussed the importance of infrastructure development along the border and the significance of the recent agreement on patrolling in eastern Ladakh. The ongoing troop disengagement process at friction points is expected to be completed soon. Jaishankar also addressed the need for India to be prepared to compete with China’s strategic moves like the “string of pearls.”
