A couple in Koppal was shocked when a hospital handed over the body of a dead newborn boy to them, despite earlier informing them that they had a baby girl. The hospital has promised to conduct a DNA test to clarify the situation. The mother, Gauri, gave birth prematurely and was never shown the baby’s face properly while he was being treated in the neonatal care unit. The hospital attributed the mix-up to discrepancies in the records. An expert committee has been formed to investigate the incident, as the hospital has faced similar controversies in the past. The parents plan to file a police complaint over the incident.
