Kerala: Kerala Achieves Remarkable 56.2% Poverty Alleviation Rate: Local Self-Govt Minister Reveals | Thiruvananthapuram News



In the assembly, Local Self-Government Minister M B Rajesh shared that 56.2% of the 64,006 families identified as extremely poor in Kerala have been lifted out of extreme poverty. The government implemented a micro plan to address the root causes of extreme poverty. Kerala is the first state to extend the rural employment guarantee scheme to urban areas, with comprehensive implementation. The state ranks first in the country in the rural employment guarantee scheme implementation. Under the LIFE Mission project, over 5 lakh families were allotted houses, with construction ongoing. Additionally, incomplete houses from previous schemes have been completed, showing progress in housing initiatives.
