National award-winning choreographer Jani Master was arrested in Goa for allegedly raping his assistant choreographer. His wife, Sumalatha, denies the allegations and claims there is a larger conspiracy at play. Police confirmed that Master had been evading arrest by staying in a hotel and turning off his phone. The woman who accused Master of harassment also accused his wife of abuse and harassment. The case has been filed under various sections including the Pocso Act. Master’s wife denies the allegations and suggests political motives behind them. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce is conducting an inquiry and will provide their report to any government agency that requests it.
