Jan Shatabdi Express sought from Tiruvarur to Chennai, Coimbatore

The Tiruvarur District Rail Passengers’ Welfare Association is requesting the introduction of a Jan Shatabdi Express from Tiruvarur to either Chennai or Coimbatore in the morning, as well as the extension of the Villupuram-Mayiladuthurai unreserved train up to Tiruvarur. They met with Union Minister L. Murugan to submit a memorandum outlining the need for more train services in Tiruvarur, which is home to a central university, medical college, schools, and government offices. They are also advocating for a morning passenger train from Karaikudi to Tiruvarur, completion of line doubling, and extension of the Tiruvarur-Mayiladuthurai MEMU train to Chengalpattu.
