ISRO chief reveals launch dates for upcoming missions: Gaganyaan, Chandrayaan-4 likely in…



ISRO Chairman S Somanath recently spoke about the significance of expanding India’s space sector during the Sardar Patel Memorial Lecture. He announced new timelines for upcoming space missions, including the Gaganyaan manned mission in 2026, Chandrayaan-4 in 2028, and the India-US NISAR project in 2025. Somanath also introduced the Chandrayaan-5 joint mission with JAXA, which aims for a heavier moon landing. ISRO’s goal is to send a manned mission to the moon by 2040 and increase India’s share of the global space economy to 10% by the end of the decade. Somanath emphasized the importance of private sector involvement and supportive policies for growth in the space sector.
