Three more Israeli hostages were released in Gaza as part of a prisoners-for-hostages swap agreed to by Israel and Hamas. However, the chaotic handover of two of the hostages angered Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, leading him to delay Israel’s part of the exchange. Netanyahu demanded a guarantee of the safe release of the remaining hostages before proceeding with the exchange. Israel insists that lessons will be learned to ensure the safe return of abducted individuals in future situations.
