Indian and Chinese Army soldiers exchanged sweets and greetings at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point in Eastern Ladakh on Diwali, amidst the ongoing disengagement process in the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that the disengagement process is nearly complete, with discussions ongoing at diplomatic and military levels to resolve conflicts. Both countries have agreed on patrol arrangements along the LAC, marking progress in easing tensions stemming from the border standoff that began in 2020. The process of restoring trust along the LAC will be gradual, focusing on steps like disengagement and de-escalation to ease tensions between India and China.
