India and China Made ‘Some Progress’ In Disengagement: EAM Jaishankar



India and China have made progress in disengagement along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh, ending a four-year standoff. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar described this as a welcome move that could lead to further steps. The disengagement follows an agreement on patrolling and troop disengagement. Jaishankar also discussed India’s efforts in resolving conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East through diplomacy. He highlighted the importance of the Quad grouping and mentioned India’s role in bridging gaps in the Middle East conflict. During his visit to Australia, Jaishankar will inaugurate India’s 4th consulate and co-chair the 15th Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue.
