IMD issues red alert for South Coastal A.P. and Rayalaseema

The region experienced light to moderate rainfall after a day of very heavy rain. The India Meteorological Department has issued red and orange alerts for several districts in Andhra Pradesh due to the intensifying depression over the Bay of Bengal. Minister of Home and Disaster Management is monitoring the situation, ensuring communication channels are open and satellite phones are ready. The Health Department is also on alert, setting up medical camps and shifting pregnant women to government hospitals in districts expecting heavy rainfall.
