Police recently disrupted a press meet organized by Group I aspirants at Ashok Nagar in Hyderabad. The aspirants, including those qualified for the Mains entrance exam, were gathered to voice their grievances near an IAS academy when police intervened. The aspirants were lathi-charged, detained, and taken to different police stations. Armed police personnel were deployed in the area, creating a tense atmosphere similar to a curfew. The aspirants claimed that some candidates in the Sports quota, not initially included in the Mains list, were being allowed to participate. They expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of the situation and believed the Chief Minister was misinformed about the issue.
