The Kerala High Court has issued notice to the Naval Armament Depot (NAD) in Aluva regarding a petition seeking action against a high-rise building owned by former MLA P.V. Anvar located in a security zone near the NAD. The petitioner, K.V. Shaji, a social activist from Malappuram, claims the building is unauthorized as it was built in a high-security zone. Anvar’s firm had taken the building on a 99-year lease during recovery proceedings initiated by the Debt Recovery Tribunal. Despite objections from the NAD and the panchayat, the building was constructed and even used for events violating the Abkari Act. The court has scheduled a hearing for February 25.
