Gurugram records second lowest turnout in Haryana polls despite special measures

Despite efforts by the local administration to address voter apathy in Gurugram district during the State Assembly elections, the voter turnout was disappointingly low. Gurugram and Faridabad had the lowest turnout in Haryana, with Gurugram recording 57.96% and Faridabad 56.49%. Special polling booths were set up in high-rise societies, but many recorded less than 40% turnout, indicating urban voters’ indifference. The district administration had conducted awareness campaigns and outreach programs, but the actual turnout fell short of expectations. They plan to analyze booth-wise turnout to understand the reasons and improve voter participation in the future.
