The Gujarat High Court lifted the stay on the development of a new facility by the Sports Club of Gujarat near Chekhla and Vansajada villages in Ahmedabad. This decision came after the petitioner decided to withdraw the petition, but was fined Rs 10,000 for doing so. The petitioner objected to the development of the club facility on a land parcel sold from a residential society’s common plot, but later reached an amicable settlement with the club and other stakeholders. The club defended its case by stating that the society’s common plot still met the required land percentage for the facility. Following the petition, the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority revoked its certificate for the plot validation.
