The Gujarat High Court has asked the Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB) to explain why they did not disclose the marks of candidates on the merit list for the recruitment of forest guards. This decision came after 108 candidates challenged the selection process, which had over 7 lakh applicants vying for 813 positions. The candidates objected to last-minute changes in the examination mode and the lack of transparency in the selection process. The court has asked for an explanation from the authorities and warned of serious consequences if they fail to provide one by the next hearing on Dec 12.
